Not Recommended – While the Britax e-brake stroller may seem a good idea. The e-brake stroller is designed for absent minded mums; who answer their mobile phone, while walking down a hill and let go of the pram handle; letting the stroller roll all the way down the hill.
In reality; this is not such a great stroller. Consider the weight of the stroller; a whopping 12 Kilograms. If you are an average woman; who is dealing with getting your children and shopping into the car; then trying to lift 12 Kgs is just a tad on the heavy side.
Like everything with electronics and a battery; one question is how long will the battery last on the ebrake system; (estimates from Britax indicate a “battery life to be 8-10 days of use”). Feedback from Britax indicate that when the battery is flat; it is still possible to apply the brake manually. To compliment this there is an LCD screen showing the life of the battery.
Regardless if your battery does go flat the stroller also allows for manual brake application. If you are holding the handle when the brake goes flat the brake will remain open. If you use the stroller and the battery goes flat with the brake applied, it will remain activated…..Narenna Bloomfield
Some of my questions include:
- how long does the battery last when connected
- If you are out hiking around lysterfield lake; will the battery give out when you are half way round.
- do you need to let the battery fully discharge before I recharge the battery
- how long does the batter take to full charge
E-brake stroller Summary
When it is all said and done; the safe n sound unity capsule, works with the e-brake stroller; easily without any special adapters, this is a plus but not enough to overcome the problems identified.
