How can my child use the bouncer?
Your child’s slightest movement is transformed into gentle, soothing rocking in the bouncer.
Your baby develops coordination and has fun at the same time.
When your child is big enough and able to walk, you can reverse the fabric and your child can use the bouncer as a chair.
The bouncer can be used until your child weighs 29 lbs/13 kg. Our bouncers do not need batteries.
- When do I use the baby side and when do I use the chair side of my BABYBJÖRN Bouncer Balance Soft?
The bouncer has two sides:
Use the baby side from the time your baby is newborn until she/he can sit up by her/himself. The baby side is designed for young babies and has a safety harness that should always be fastened. The safety harness has two different fastenings to allow you to adjust the size to fit your child.
When your child is able to walk and sit down unaided, you can reverse the fabric and use the chair side. Your child can then use the bouncer as a chair. Your child will no longer need to use the safety harness, which is not possible anyway when the chair side is used.
- When can I start using theBaby Bjorn Balance Soft bouncer for my baby?
You can use the Baby Bjorn Balance Soft bouncer for a newborn baby (8 lbs/3.5 kg) until your child weighs 29 lbs/13 kg (approx. 2 years of age). You should use the baby side until your child can sit upright by him/herself and always with the safety harness fastened. Once your child is able to walk, use the chair side as a comfy seat for your child.
- How long can my child sit in the Baby Bjorn Bouncer Balance bouncer each time?
You can let your child sit in the BABYBJÖRN Bouncer Balance Soft for as long as he or she is content. It’s even fine for your child to sleep in the bouncer for short periods if he/she enjoys that. In that case, we recommend that you use the lowest position or medium position to ensure maximum sleeping comfort for your baby. However, small children should not sit or lie in the same position for extended periods.
That’s why we recommend that you pay close attention to your child’s needs and switch between the bouncer and e.g. a baby carrier/your arms/baby carriage/cot. For a little baby who can’t sit unaided, you should always use the baby side with the safety harness fastened
Baby Bjorn Bouncer Balance Soft has three positions – which position should I choose for my child?
The three positions allow you to vary your child’s sitting position so that he/she can sit in a more upright or more reclined position.
The maximum weight for the baby side is 20 lbs/9 kg and so we recommend the following:
1. Lowest position (Sleep) is used when your baby is newborn. The baby reclines comfortably with optimum support for his/her body and at the same time can have eye contact with his/her parents. Use the baby side and always keep the safety harness fastened. Maximum weight is 15.5 lbs/7 kg.
2. The medium position (Rest) can be used once the child can easily keep her/his back and head upright in this position and the baby side should be used with the safety harness fastened here too. Maximum weight 20 lbs/9 kg. g
3. The highest position (Play) can be used once the child can easily keep his/her back and head upright in this position and until the child can sit unaided, you should use the baby side and always fasten the safety harness. Maximum weight 20 lbs/9 kg.
When the child can walk and sit down unaided, you no longer need to use the safety harness; you can reverse the fabric and use the chair side. In this case, we recommend the following:
Lowest position (Sleep) up to 15.5 lbs/7 kg.
Medium position (Rest) up to 22 lbs/10 kg.
Highest position (Play) up to 29 lbs/13 kg.
